Educate and Celebrate - Boxing@Willows

This month our feature class falls under the umbrella of HIIT@Willows. Here at WHLC we offer a variety of HIIT training options through our Group Fitness Classes of Boxing, Aqua and Les Mills Classes of SPRINT and GRIT, as well as through our Small Group Training (SGT) Membership, which includes HIIT classes across the week.  

This July our Feature Class from our HIIT@Willows options, is our Boxing Class.

Willows Group Fitness Timetable


Boxing at Willows involves a full body workout, that is tailored to build fitness and endurance through boxing-based drills and techniques, using gloves and focus pads. Learn to jab, upper cut, and hook, while working on footwork and speed, core strength and agility, and power and flexibility. Our amazing instructors will guide your through your workout and create classes that cater from the beginner to the advanced and allows you to work at your own intensity.

The physical benefits of boxing listed above stem from the high intensity levels, fast repetitive punching actions, resistance of the focus pads, multiple muscle groups working together and repeated contractions using force and speed.  The mental benefits, such as improving focus and decreasing stress are produced through the fast, furious and fun nature of boxing. Boxing requires you to fully concentrate on the task at hand, allowing you to switch off from the stresses of the outside world. Targeting those focus pads increases the production of endorphins to create feel-good thoughts.
